It's been a full year since I set this up, and this is my first official blog post. In my defense, it has been an incredibly busy year! Here's a brief overview:
Graduation 2015! We had four music majors graduate!
Youth Quest - Bekah, my wonderful wife, traveled with me to Daytona Beach, Florida in order to meet potential students at Youth Quest.
Our pep band had an incredible year. The school built us a new stage in the gym, and the band did an amazing job representing the music program at Southwestern Christian University. They were even featured in Soar, the school magazine!
The First Annual Southwestern Christian University Jazz Honor Band was held on campus.
SCU hired Dr. Roxane LaCombe to director our vocal program. She has been a fantastic addition to our department.
SCU had a presence at OKMEA in Tulsa this past January as well. It was not only the school's first time to have an exhibition booth there, it was the university's first time to attend the conference.
SCU held its first college jazz concert on campus. Our jazz ensemble worked hard and put on a great show!
I traveled back to New Jersey to take qualification exams at Rutgers. (That was not all that fun, but it had to happen.)
Graduation 2016! We had four more music majors graduate this year. Congratulations to our graduates!
It was an unbelievably busy year, and I could not have survived without my wife. She put up with all the late nights due to work and study. I love her dearly!
